This is an exciting opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to build on their previous experience of working in a site supervisory or building maintenance role.
The successful candidate must be capable of providing a wide range of tasks to provide a safe, secure, clean, well maintained and welcoming environment for employees and visitors. They must also be able to be on call out of hours (generally in alternation with other Site Supervisors) to attend to functions and emergencies such as intruders and flooding. The successful candidate will also be required to undertake any artisan tasks as requested across the NFRS estate.

ESTATES MANAGER
Starting at £49,840 rising annually to £55,046 p.a.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant contribution to the ongoing development and management of the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service’s operational estate.
The post holder will manage the whole of Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service’s (NFRS) property portfolio dealing with the planned maintenance, reactive maintenance and minor new works to keep the fire service’s estate and facilities operational 24/7.
The successful candidate will need strong contract management and people skills as well as the ability to develop and implement estates policy, procedures and plans.
This role requires someone who can operate and work comfortably under their own initiative and with a high level of autonomy. Experience in the management of budgets is essential for this post.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in an estates/property/project management function either in the Public or private sector. This role will require excellent management, negotiation and communication skills with both internal staff and external contractors, suppliers and other government partners. An understanding of the CDM Regulations and Health & Safety at Work Regulations is essential, and it would be desirable to have full membership of, or be actively working towards membership of CIOB, RICS or IWFM.

BUSINESS CONTINUITY AND EMERGENCY PLANNING OFFICER

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join the Risk and Assurance Team who will be responsible for the creation, review and updating of Business Continuity Policies, plans, exercises and supporting Heads of Departments with Business Impact Assessments. Providing subject matter technical expertise to the Chair and Deputy Chair with all things Business Continuity to help the Service as it continues to provide the community with high-quality services during the ongoing pandemic, and horizon scanning into the future.
The role will also cover the management of the Corporate risk register, and includes supporting, guiding and providing training to relevant document and portfolio holders to ensure the Service meets its strategic objectives.
The post holder will have experience working within Business Continuity and Risk Management roles, with the ability to translate and convert technical information into digestible priority driven requirements in a fast paced and exciting environment. Using their excellent communication skills to work and engage with various personnel throughout the Service. They will need to a competent user of Windows software applications with excellent organisational skill with ability to meet deadlines.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking to recruit a highly motivated professional with recent, relevant experience of providing Health, Safety and Environmental advice within a large, high risk employment situation.
The successful candidate will contribute to the work of the Risk and Assurance Team by providing health, safety and environmental risk management advice, guidance and support to line managers. They will also be expected to foster a positive safety culture where proportionate risk controls contribute to the efficiency and safety of the Service.
It is an essential requirement for the post-holder to hold or be actively working towards a NEBOSH diploma or NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety and IEMA Certificate in Environmental Risk Management or have relevant recent experience. You will also need to have the ability to interpret complex information, while possessing excellent communication and inter-personal skills at all levels using tact, diplomacy and negotiating skills when necessary.
